The Cavitonic

Here's a variation on the classic Gin & Tonic:

2 1/2 oz. Hendrick's Gin
splash of St. Germain elderflower liqueur
add ingredients to old fashioned glass with ice... top off with cucumber Dry Soda and garnish with lime wedge.

Sazerac

What became known as the Steve Cavit (Thnk you, Mr. Master's!), many will recognize as the original Sazerac: Add 2+ oz Rye Whiskey, 3/4 oz Pineau Rouge and generous dashes of Peychauds bitters to Absinthe coated old fashioned glass. (Ice optional, not recommended).

The Rose Kennedy

The Rose Kennedy: 2ozs Grey Goose, 1/2 oz Cranberry Juice, 1/2 oz lime juice and dollop of pomegranate molasses. Fill high ball glass with ingredients, ice and top off with soda water. Garnish with lime twist.

Introduction

Hi All!
I submit for your entertainment a blog dedicated to the spirits. Spirits? The ones haunting my attic? Those I thank when I miraculously choose the right line at the grocery? Nope.... Spirits in a bottle, my friends.
We will talk about cocktails: How to make 'em; What to buy at the Liquor Store; What I look for when I'm traveling and on the hunt for spirits and spirit accessories, and etc., etc..
For the most part I will post recipes, both classic and original, with an eye for specific brands of liquor, different and interesting combinations and even good food pairings!
So, without further ado, I present: The Cocktail Blog!
